Briefly? 5 powercuts all before the computer finished saving my OMF. I’ve got Dead Fish delivered. The OMF was incorrect first, but then Sheryl and I resolved the problem. (This happened during the powercuts). The rest of the day was a mesh. Absolute chaos. I helped peope out people with Pro Tools. Strangely the music I wanted to master with Kris Yates is not recognised by any of the v8.0 Pro Tools systems, so I had to come up with a workaround. In fact I have learnt that most of the time I have to come up with a workaround. The music seemed ok until the night when Pro Tools decided to completely freeze whenever I move the mouse. It’s very irritating. The project backups are growing both at home on stacks of DVDs and on campus at the networked drive.
I’m refreshed (altough I had a very light sleep) and ready for today.
I would like to propose a change in the Media Centre ‘law’: allow us to drink if the beverage is consumed from a reseleable container. (Eg: mineral water in water bottle. There is minimal risk of pouring water over anything if the cap is closed. I really can not work without drinking.)
