This is a short summary of my past experience. I was too tired at the time to write anything here. I think it is understandable, I was roaming the streets of Budapest usually from 6 o’clock in the morning.
The reason behind this unreasable act was that in the dawn hours there are less people around, less individuals who contribute to deface the sonic environment of the city. My biggest disappointment came from the fact that a new underground line is being built and the several building sites created a considerable amount of noise. So currently the city is very noise polluted.
I also forgot that traffic noise is at a very high level, which at the time frustrated me. I had to face the sad fact: It’s rarely possible to capture anything without the sound of sirens or the general traffic hum.
People seemed unhelpful, so I’m left wondering what the heck I am going to do for a sound piece? I’ll put all of my thought aside for a few days and come back to them. Maybe I have to leave this gateways project as it is and switch to the failsafe plan: create sound for films and not realising any of project ideas?
