I am a little bit behind with things. Especially with my blogging. After the presentations I really didn’t have the time to relax. In fact, I still don’t have it.
University is over, but my workload is the same. The difference? It is not going to be assessed work. I had a very strange feeling after my hectic and stressed hand-in. Many people feel empty, I felt liberated. It is very strange. I am now working on Maria Lee’s animation and I feel really good.
During the afternoon of the hand-in I went home to have a powernap. After waking up my first thought was that now I am free to get back to my language learning. I don’t have to work for any more assessments and I’m free to read whatever I want to read. It is a great, liberating feeling! I got tired by the end of the year, but these thoughts keep me going.
I am going to miss some aspects of the university life: being able to engange in discussions with my tutors, and going to the library. I’m not going to miss the social side of things, because I didn’t really have a social life. Tough.
Anyway, today went acceptable. I’m finished with a premix version for Maria Lee’s animation. It’s unfinished in many ways: the shots are not final and the sounds are not final. Tomorrow I’ll get on with the mixing and creating an great ambience for the film.
I am amazed how much I got done in 4 days. My schedule for the past days looked like this:
- Wake-up: 12.00pm
- Editing: 13.00pm-12.00am
- Recording sounds: 12.00am-03.30.am
- Bedtime: 04.00am-12.00pm
The fact that I’ve already worked on the Biz Idea’s animation gave me a good grounding in project management. I’m thinking through all my steps. I’m also in emailing contact with Csaba Wagner, a hungarian sound designer, who is helping me out enormously with all sorts of advice and information. There is a lot for me to learn!
Today I met Joshua: I’m getting back to work on Bike next Wednesday (10/06/2009). There’s not much time left until we get kicked out from campus and from the university.
There are a few more things for me to do: send my CV and cover letter out and sort out my life before I go away for the summer. Perhaps the last summer when I can just forget about work… Will I?
